This is a problem you generally don’t see in your typical D&D game. Sure, your players might go murder hobo, but the damage will be limited to whatever poor souls happen to be in the area. But when you command ships that fly through space and have weapons that can destroy entire city blocks, it becomes much more of a problem.

Less lethal, more lethal, or just right?

One of the more delicate duties of any Gamemaster would be to find the right balance between turning your game into a maelstrom of death and having your players become bored with how easy dispatching the enemy has become. Whether the focus is on hack and slash, or the game is more role playing oriented, there is always some level of danger for the characters involved. The trick is finding how much danger to keep the adventure interesting without things turning into a George R. R. Martin novel.

The Wookie stood on the edge of the road, discussing his next destination with the crew of the transport. The crew seemed unwilling to haggle on the price of transportation, even with a large and angry Wookie. As the haggling grew more heated, a speeder bike pulled up.
